Integration Specialist

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking to engage suitably qualified and experienced Integration Specialists who will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, automated, and reliable deployment of integration solutions across the AEC's diverse enterprise application landscape.

The Integration Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality APIs that connect the AEC's systems, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to support these systems through testing, quality assurance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Designing, developing, and implementing high-quality APIs that meet business requirements and technical constraints.
  • Collaborating with System Analysts, Data Engineers, and stakeholders to design and develop integration solutions.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code for integration components.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving integration-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Conducting code reviews and planning and executing comprehensive testing strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Proven experience as a software developer with solid programming skills in C#, .NET Core, and SQL.
  2. Demonstrated experience in Azure integration services, including Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Azure APIM.
  3. Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services and tools, such as App Service, Azure Functions, and cloud storage technologies.
  4. Experience in developing secure modern web services with Authentication & Authorization using schemes like OAuth, OpenID, and JWT.
  5. Experience with microservices, data transformation, and interoperability standards (e.g., JSON, XML, REST, SOAP), or other API technologies like gRPC and GraphQL.
  6. Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience with API frameworks and tools.
  7. Familiarity with databases, data structures, and integration patterns.
  8. Experience with API testing tools and methodologies.
