Role Summary

Yooralla seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing best practice, evidence-based occupational therapy services to adults and young people with a disability.

About the Role

This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapy in people’s homes, educational settings or in the community, aimed at maximising a person’s functional skills and participation as well as promoting physical health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering therapy to adults and young people with a disability to achieve their goals and live the life they choose.
  • Working collaboratively with the person’s supports, including their families, to set and achieve goals.
  • Providing indirect customer service and family coordination to support client goals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an established and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, good interpersonal skills, and ability to engage people with a disability, motivate them and build their capability.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a transdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team model.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • Willingness to improve on your clinical practice, including the ability to self-reflect and a focus on developing clinical skills in areas you’re not familiar with.
  • Care for the work you do and for the people you work with.
  • Competency in a variety of IT platforms, particularly client management systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapy), and
  • An Australian driver’s licence and own vehicle, and a willingness to travel across Western Melbourne region, as required.
