Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to our research team.

Location: Sydney, NSW. Employment Type: Full-time, fixed-term contract for 1 year. Working Hours: 35 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative research environment with a focus on enhancing the quality of research outcomes in mining equipment development and safety technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent or team-based research contributing to the discipline area of mining equipment development and safety technologies.
  • Develop scholarly output recognized by peers through conducting research or enabling research teams.
  • Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to the development of research activities.
  • Disseminate research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
  • Engage in discipline-appropriate research activities, including surveys, literature reviews, data collection, and result recording using appropriate methods.
  • Participate in conferences and workshops relevant to the project as required.
  • Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where necessary.
Requirements
  • A PhD in Mining/Safety/Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
  • Commitment to staying up-to-date with industry knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated capability in mining equipment/product design, development, and testing, with experience in mechanical systems, industrial product development, or safety-related technologies.
  • A track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, build relationships, and communicate effectively.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable background in industrial design or product development, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills with diverse stakeholders and students.
