ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Residential Care Facilitator, you will play a pivotal role in the lives of your clients. Your responsibilities will be varied and demanding, involving direct support for clients in environments such as residential homes, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, community centers, and emergency shelters.

Your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Establishing rapport with the individuals under your care.
  • Providing continuous support to participants, adhering to a structured routine tailored to their specific needs.
  • Administering prescribed medications.
  • Transporting clients to and from educational settings, day programs, and appointments.
  • Assisting in the execution of programs aimed at client development.
  • Documenting reports on client progress.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

To excel in this position, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Current Working with Children Check (for paid employment)
  • Current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained through designated channels)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003)
  • National Police Check (to be obtained through appropriate means)
  • International Police Check for applicants who have resided continuously for 12 months or more in another country within the last decade.
  • A valid driver's license
  • Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module (accessible through designated channels)
  • Ability to work a 7-day shift roster
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical assessments
  • Two professional references
  • Willingness to participate in a Disqualified Carer's Check

Please note that while Allambi Care encourages all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this is not a mandatory requirement.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are required to hold or be pursuing one of the following:

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention; or
  • A recognized relevant qualification (please inquire if uncertain)

Additionally, all residential care workers must complete three mandatory units of competency, which include:

  • CHCMHS007 – Work effectively in trauma-informed care
  • CHCPRT009 – Provide primary residential care
  • CHCCCS009 – Facilitate responsible behavior

Allambi Care can assist applicants in obtaining the necessary units of competency within the first three months of employment if they have not been acquired prior to application through our partnered RTO BIAE (RTO no) or the Centre for Excellence in Child Family Welfare.
