  • Four operating theatres and two procedure rooms are available for our medical professionals to use.
  • An 8-bed ICU/HDU provides critical care services to our patients.
  • A comprehensive anaesthesia service supports obstetrics, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, and dental procedures.
  • We have a preadmission clinic, acute pain service, and procedural sedation available to our patients.

    • 4 Queensland Anaesthesia Rotational Training Scheme trainees who work under the guidance of experienced anaesthetists.
    • 1 College of Intensive Care Medicine trainee who gains hands-on experience in critical care.
    • 1 Rural Generalist trainee who develops their skills in rural healthcare.
    • 2 Principal House Officers who supervise junior doctors and provide them with mentorship.
    • 2 Junior House Officers who gain valuable experience working alongside senior doctors.
    • 1 Acute Pain Service Nurse who specializes in pain management.
    About the Role

We are seeking passionate anaesthetists to join our growing anaesthesia service at Rockhampton Hospital. Working alongside our Director of Anaesthesia, you will be part of a team that delivers safe, reliable, and high-quality care to patients across Central Queensland.

We are looking for specialists who want to consolidate their consultant role in a supportive and collaborative environment. About You
  • You must hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification, eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). In general, this requires Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
  • You must maintain ongoing CME programs, appropriate to your level of expertise.
What We Offer

Total remuneration packages range from $251,527 to $528,432 per annum, comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

We also offer Professional Development Leave and Allowances ($21,500 p.a.), Overtime and on-call allowances, Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance, Generous Salary Sacrificing, Paid Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Discounted Private Health Insurance, Relocation and Travel (Conditions Apply).

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements: It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases.
