Senior Project Engineer Transmission Lines

Elecnor has been contracted to build Energy Connect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy, enabling a further 4950 MW of generation capacity, saving NSW customers $180 million a year, and creating 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
The Role: Elecnor has a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer, Electrical to join the team on-site in rural NSW on a 14/7 FIFO or DIDO roster.
As a Senior Project Engineer, Electrical, you will assume a critical role in overseeing the comprehensive execution of high-voltage transmission line initiatives, including the design of stringing plans, methodologies, and the implementation of strategy at site level.
With a focus on delivering a safe, efficient, and successful transmission line project, the Engineer's technical leadership ensures the timely and compliant completion of complex OHTL stringing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and improve constructability and develop effective stringing solutions and plans for 330kV and 500kV
- Oversee the safe and effective delivery of stringing activities
- Be a senior figure in a team working to deliver works packages to program and budget
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to develop scopes of work and evaluate and select appropriate sub-contractors and suppliers
- Analyse risks within construction to ensure works are delivered safely and meet all environmental and quality requirements
- Prepare construction budgets, forecast, and updates
- Actively lead and exemplify a target zero safety culture
- Implement systems and processes to manage the quality element of construction works
- Apply skills and knowledge to assist in planning and value engineering
- Lead in the management of subcontractors and advise on commercial aspects and performance
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or 10+ years of OHTL electrical experience
- Thorough understanding of Australian OHS legislative requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
- Driver's License
