About the Role:

At Jobs for Humanity, we are looking for a talented Database Expert to join our team. As an Associate Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance database environments using Oracle technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking an experienced professional to provide expert-level support for our Oracle database infrastructure, including design, development, implementation, and maintenance of physical databases.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop strategic plans to meet those needs.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database concepts, including database definitions, parameters, component placement, reorganization, access methods, and security definitions.
  • You will also participate in capacity planning, operations, application development, and other TSG teams on database performance and access issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of system backups and ensure data integrity by implementing backup/recovery procedures to protect against loss or corruption.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to system configuration and functionality.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve production issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Pursue ongoing learning and professional growth opportunities to stay current with evolving technologies and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Oracle database administration and Shell Scripting is required.
  • Working knowledge of at least one database management system (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL) or proven ability to learn new technologies effectively.
  • Experience with Exadata, OEM, Dataguard, and patching is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts.
  • Personal commitment to staying current with latest technology concepts.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
