As part of our ongoing collaboration, we're currently seeking skilled individuals to fill various roles associated with the electoral process. These positions offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the democratic process and make a tangible impact on the community.

The roles we're recruiting for include:

  • Issuing Officer
    • Responsibilities:
    • Issue ballot papers to electors residing within the district.
    • Rotate as a ballot box guard and queue controller.
    • After 6 pm, assume the role of counting officer to conduct the count.
  • Student Electoral Officer
    • Assist in polling place duties performed by Officers.
    • Limited hours available.
  • Voter Information Officer
    • Engaged centrally through the Electoral Ambassador program.
    • May be assigned to polling places with high concentrations of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) or indigenous electors.
    • Perform other duties but are largely deployed to assist electors with language, literacy, or other requirements.
  • General Assistant
    • Support the setup of polling places on the night before polling for a maximum of three hours.
    • Assist with the count and pack up on Polling Day.
  • Ballot Box Guard
    • Ensure correct ballot box papers are placed into the ballot boxes.
    • Rotate as issuing officer and queue controller.
    • After 6 pm, assume the role of counting officer to conduct the count.
  • Queue Controller
    • Manage the queue into the polling place and direct electors as needed.
    • Rotate as an issuing officer and ballot box guard.
    • After 6 pm, assume the role of counting officer to conduct the count.

We estimate that successful candidates can expect a salary in the range of $25-$30 per hour, depending on their level of experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the location and nature of the work.
