We are seeking a highly skilled Land Use Planner to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory. As a key member of our Lands Planning team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our region through strategic land use planning projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the sustainable development of the Northern Territory. As a Land Use Planner, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing land use concepts and associated policies
  • Consulting with stakeholders and the community to ensure that land is developed for the sustainable economic, environmental, and social benefits of Territorians
  • Providing advice and information to the Department, the Northern Territory Planning Commission, relevant Government Departments and agencies, and the public on planning and development issues
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree or diploma qualification related to Land Use Planning with eligibility for admission to corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with a wide range of land use and development planning issues, the assessment of development applications, and the ability to operate efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Well-developed political and cross-cultural awareness, and the ability to communicate with influence, negotiate, and resolve conflict
