Job Summary:

  • Support the drilling team as an assistant to ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Contribute to the training and development of other crew members on safety procedures and best practices.
  • Maintain and service rig engines and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies for the rig.
  • Monitor and report on work progress using technology and data analysis.
  • Operate the rig for all required operations, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of well control principles and requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks assigned by the drilling team leader with primary responsibility in assisting the supervising all tasks performed by junior crew members.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the rig and equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Hold relevant certifications in drilling and oil/gas operations, including Certificate III and Certificate II.
  • Have prior experience in the industry, demonstrating a strong understanding of safety procedures and equipment operations.
  • Be physically fit and able to work in remote locations with variable weather conditions.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be familiar with Chain of Responsibility Regulations.
  • Have basic knowledge of machinery and equipment operations.
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong safety focus.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Hold a valid IWCF Level 3 Certificate and Industry Safety Induction.
  • Have recent training in First Aid, Fire Response, and Breathing Apparatus Operations.
  • Be proficient in operating specialized equipment such as Front End Loaders and Confined Space Entry.
