About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Archaeologist to lead our cultural resource management assessments in the Yukon and British Columbia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising staff, preparing technical reports, and actively participating in our Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) programs.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead cultural resource management assessments, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare technical reports, including regulatory deliverables, and ensure their accuracy and quality
- Actively participate in our HSSE programs, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring the well-being of our team members
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience leading field-based cultural resource management assessments, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Experience identifying traditional use sites and features, CMTs, and precontact and historical artifacts
- Ability to hold a Class 2 Yukon Archaeological Site Regulation permit or possess the required experience to become a permit holder in the near future
- Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture
- Desire to work closely with other environmental professionals and First Nations
- Excellent technical writing skills and experience in cultural resource management, including the preparation of regulatory deliverables
- Self-motivated and ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Yukon) or equivalent
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required; a Master's degree is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Cultural Resource Management; experience in the Yukon is an asset
- Experience working in remote locations is an asset
