About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Ward team at a leading hospital in Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive and compassionate nursing care to patients admitted to the Medical Ward, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring, symptom assessment, and medication reconciliation. Regularly monitor and evaluate patients' progress, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures as per prescribed orders and established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Provide concise and timely reports during shift handovers and interdisciplinary meetings.
- Educate patients and their families on their medical condition, treatment plans, and self-care strategies. Empower patients to actively participate in their care and make informed decisions regarding their health.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff. Contribute to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff. Practice proper hand hygiene and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
- Stay up to date with current nursing practices, research, and evidence-based guidelines. Actively participate in continuing education programs and professional development activities to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Previous experience in a medical ward or acute care setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered care and maintaining professional standards.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
