Airwallex Bill Pay provides customers with a single platform to collect, approve, and pay vendor invoices, syncing into their accounting systems for faster reconciliation. Our team is responsible for scaling the Bill Pay product to meet growing demands for data and feature complexity.
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll help define and implement our technical strategy to meet evolving product and engineering challenges. You'll take ownership of projects from conception to delivery, leading the building of APIs, workflows, and data pipelines to serve our expanding product needs.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to define product roadmaps, prioritize projects, and ship incrementally to production.
- Deliver complex features, including breaking down requirements, providing accurate time estimates, and engaging in team planning and discussions.
- Support the engineering team on architecture evolution, quality improvement, and engineering risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for operational excellence and user experience.
Requirements:
- Mastery of backend technologies, with a focus on Kotlin and SpringBoot.
- Strong customer orientation and product thinking.
- Strong aptitude for system thinking, writing high-quality code, and documentation.
- Experience with cloud technologies, such as GCP or AWS.
- Demonstrated history of using testing practices and API design best practices.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to bridge gaps between teams and areas of expertise.
