About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hazmat Consultant to join our QLD team at RED OHMS Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and/or completing hazardous materials project work for our clients and contributing to the expansion of our HazMat team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys and/or inspections for the presence of asbestos/hazardous materials building materials.
  • Manage the completion of asbestos airborne fibre sampling, in accordance with relevant standards or guidance documents.
  • Undertake visual clearance inspections following asbestos remediation.
  • Write technical reports and develop asbestos registers, management plans, and technical scopes.
  • Assist in the management of large-scale HazMat projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience as an asbestos surveyor.
  • Qualification as a Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) or holding sufficient experience to gain this qualification.
  • Experience in using relevant asbestos/hazardous materials management software.
  • A high attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on the task in hand.
  • A highly organised approach and great at planning work activities.
  • Flexibility with working arrangements, as site travel, potentially to remote locations, is a regular part of the role.
  • A willingness to learn and to act as a guide/mentor to less experienced members of our HazMat team.
