Pastry Chef Position

Our organisation is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join its culinary team. As a key member of the brigade, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality desserts that enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Presentation: Prepare, bake, and decorate a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, tarts, and breads to a consistently high standard.
  • Menu Development: Innovate and contribute to the development of new dessert and pastry menu items in line with seasonal trends and guest preferences.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all pastry items are prepared in accordance with recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage pastry inventory, including ordering supplies, rotating stock, and minimising wastage.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service and coordination.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar Pastry Chef role (ideally 2+ years)
  • Formal qualifications in Patisserie or Commercial Cookery (Certificate III or higher preferred)
  • Strong understanding of classic and modern pastry techniques
  • A creative approach to menu design and plating
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP knowledge desirable)
  • The ability to work flexibly, including weekends, early mornings, or evenings as required
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge with the team
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights
