Coastal Environment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Coastal Environment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with local councils and stakeholders to identify and manage coastal hazards, improve the health of estuaries and coastal environments, and coordinate studies and plans to achieve these goals.

As a key member of our team, you will provide expert technical input and advice to support councils and their communities in preparing and implementing Coastal Management Programs and associated studies.

  • Develop and implement strategies to protect and conserve coastal environments, working collaboratively with local councils, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct research, data analysis, and report writing to inform decision-making and policy development related to coastal management.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to local councils and communities to help them develop and implement effective coastal management plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, policies, and best practices in coastal management and apply this knowledge to inform your work.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, marine biology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Degree level tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, marine biology, or related discipline.
