About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Rio Tinto's Dampier Salt Operations in Port Hedland. As a key member of our Mobile Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for performing planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on our extensive fleet of heavy mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all Rio Tinto Company Policies and procedures.
  • Maintain our fleet of mobile equipment, including harvesters, dozers, haul trucks, trailers, graders, and excavators, and determine repair actions when required.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects, increasing safety while reducing risk and cost.
  • Utilize SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly, and completed to the relevant standard/specification.
Requirements
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • A Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification.
  • Experience maintaining and servicing heavy mobile equipment.
  • An Australian manual driver's license.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without requiring visa sponsorship.
