The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for servicing and repairing motor vehicles in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that company standards and relevant laws and regulations are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and company standards, including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles.
  • Monitoring inventory and requesting the order of new parts from the Service Administrator.
  • Assembling mechanical components according to specifications.
  • Performing diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
  • Providing assistance to Trade Assistants when required.
  • Completing Repair Orders.
  • Providing breakdown assistance when necessary.
  • Preparing vehicles for handback and sales.
  • Testing and general servicing of workshop equipment for safety.
  • Keeping accurate and on-time job records and recording servicing history in applicable systems.
  • Conducting work in a safe manner, complying with Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental policies, procedures, and being familiar with emergency evacuation procedures to eliminate or minimize workplace health and safety risks.
  • Adhering to Company Quality Assurance and Uniform Guidelines.
  • Attending company/manufacturer training as necessary.
  • Working efficiently and effectively in a team environment to maintain a culture of service excellence and accomplishing organizational goals under limited supervision.
  • Driving vehicles as required.
  • Other reasonable duties as requested by the Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Full drivers' license (including manual vehicles).
  • Trade qualification in Motor Mechanics.
  • A customer-focused, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work each day.
  • Ability to follow procedures and adhere to company guidelines and standards.
