About the Role
We are seeking a skilled journalist to join our team in Brisbane. As a seasoned reporter, you will be responsible for generating and delivering distinctive news stories that cater to a wide range of subjects.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in producing compelling and complex news stories, with excellent research skills and demonstrated editorial judgement. They will also possess strong multi-media production techniques, including presentation skills for all multi-media programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, compile, and present accurate, concise, and clear stories using a creative and original approach across platforms on a daily basis.
- Proactively generate and contribute original story ideas to the discussion with newsroom leadership teams.
- Research story material, identify suitable sources, and arrange and conduct interviews to support own and others' output.
- Presentation live-to-air reports to a consistently high standard and participate in live Q&As.
About You
You should be a self-starter with a passion for breaking stories that bring complex issues to life. Strong digital news writing skills are essential, and experience working in a cross-platform filing environment is highly desirable. A collaborative and supportive attitude, along with strong networks and knowledge of major social, economic, political, and cultural issues, would be an added advantage.
