About the Role

This key role is a critical member of our finance team, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. The Financial Accountant will provide high-level support to the Senior Financial Accountant, ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and the integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring efficient processes and supporting audits and financial reviews.
  • Support the Senior Financial Accountant in the accurate and timely closure of month-end accounts, including preparing reconciliations and reviewing payment runs.
  • Perform regular reviews and analyses of accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and manage the chart of accounts master data, including accounts and projects.
  • Collaborate with other business units to ensure accurate allocation of business unit and project costs.
  • Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in coordinating and supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate the accurate and timely completion of financial acquittals.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting.
  • Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
  • Knowledge of core accounting and finance processes.
  • Exceptional spreadsheet skills.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Service and results-oriented approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
