Embedded Software Engineer

About Us

We are pushing the limits of quantum sensing and building world-class fit-for-purpose quantum sensors. Our team consists of leaders in the quantum sensing field who believe commercial quantum sensing has arrived.

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our fast-paced, highly iterative team. The successful candidate will have expertise in embedded software development, Linux OS, and Python programming.

Your Role

You will contribute to the development of custom Linux drivers and kernel-level components, collaborating closely with electronic engineers and physicists. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing embedded software, as well as participating in testing, debugging, and performance tuning of embedded systems.

The ideal candidate is an impossibly fast learner with strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a collaborative team environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a strong focus on Linux OS
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python for embedded systems
  • Experience with Linux driver development and kernel updates
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, WIFI
  • Experience with Xilinx SoC and FPGA platforms is a plus
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit tests for embedded systems

Location: Melbourne, Australia
