Job Title: Lead Nursing Practitioner

As a key member of our healthcare team, the Lead Nursing Practitioner plays a pivotal role in ensuring comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards.

They oversee client experience management, guarantee optimal supply, retention, and utilisation of staffing resources, and empower staff competence through continuous assessment and development.

  • Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development initiatives
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Pharmacology expertise with a focus on evidence-based practice
  • Advanced nursing record-keeping skills
  • Proficiency in nursing processes and procedures
  • Excellent computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant nursing legislation
  • Proven infection prevention and control measures
  • Scientific nursing principles and processes with application to practice
  • Audit and analysis of patient records for quality improvement
  • Patient assessment skills with effective communication
  • Nursing care plan development and modification
  • Scope of practice for nurse practitioners with expertise in their field
  • Specialised wards require ACLS, ATLS, PALS training; risk identification and mitigation
  • Analytical and interpretation skills for data-driven decision making
  • Basic life support training with certification
  • Mentorship and leadership skills for staff development

This role is located at Mediclinic Victoria, Tongaat, South Africa. All applicants will be considered with preference given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa.
