Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking a skilled Land Mobile Radio Technician to maintain and repair electronics such as radios, communications switches, Land Mobile Radios, towers, repeaters, and antennas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radio communications and experience with installation, adjustments, and troubleshooting of communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform installation and adjustments of communication systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  2. Inspect radio communications activities, troubleshoot issues, and determine equipment operational status within the LMR Network.
  3. Test, align, and adjust equipment; replace and repair faulty components, and requisition materials as needed.
  4. Maintain equipment maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists, and technical manuals; establish maintenance requirements for support equipment, tools, and spare parts needed to support repair effort.
  5. Provide technical guidance to subordinate personnel and ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  6. Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with test standards.
  7. Consult layout drawings to ensure equipment is properly positioned and meets safety standards.
  8. Perform other qualified duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience operating, maintaining, installing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing radio systems such as P25 repeaters, fixed, vehicle-mounted, and portable radios.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • US Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and assist in lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Candidate must be capable of climbing towers 100 feet above ground level and possess good physical and mental health.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
