Urgent Care Practice Nurse
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as an Urgent Care Practice Nurse.
- Ensure all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service are identified, triaged promptly and provided with front-line care in collaboration with the medical practitioner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care activities relating to injury or illness in collaboration with the patient, families, carers, and medical practitioner.
- Responsible for Triage of all patients who present to Urgent Care by performing comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments.
- Take appropriate action for any triaged patients who require escalation due to an emergency presentation or deterioration of illness or injury.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability for the dynamic Urgent Care environment.
- Provide health education to patients as required.
- Complete all documentation promptly and accurately.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills both verbal and written, a high level of critical thinking, and ability to assess and recognize health deterioration and escalate appropriately.
- AHPRA Registered Nurse.
- Previous experience in triage in an emergency department, preferably 1 year minimum.
- 3 years' experience as an RN preferred.
- Ability to work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
- A passion for people with a personable approach.
