About the RoleOur client, a leading Wealth Management firm, is seeking a Manager of Operational Risk to join their Wealth Management Risk Team on an initial 12-month contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with the management, analysis, and development of the Product Governance and Suitability Risk Frameworks for the firm.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the management, analysis, and development of the Product Governance framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyse, assess, and supervise Product and Suitability Risk for the Firm to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Coordinate and maintain the Approved Product List to ensure it remains up-to-date and compliant.
- Conduct analysis and due diligence on client books of proposed new Financial Adviser (FA) hires to ensure suitability.
- Review and approve new products as part of the Capital Markets Committee to ensure they meet the firm's risk management standards.
- Perform ongoing review and performance of tasks relating to compliance with the Product Governance Policy of the business.
- Contribute to and assist with the Product & Investment Risk Committee as a member of the committee to ensure effective risk management.
- Ensure standardisation and consistency in risk management policies and procedures applicable across the business relating to product and suitability risk.
- Approximately 5 years' experience in Risk Management or Product from a top-tier firm.
- University Degree qualified in Finance, Business, or Economics – preferable.
- Recognised industry qualifications – preferable.
- Experience within wealth management and/or banking – preferable.
- Extensive Risk Management or Product experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian and International Financial Markets and products.
- High attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
