Salary Information

The salary range for this position is based on the MEDICAL SCIENTISTS, PHARMACISTS AND PSYCHOLOGISTS (VICTORIAN PUBLIC SECTOR) (SINGLE INTEREST EMPLOYERS) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021 – 2025. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience, with an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $150,000.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for either a Grade 3 Senior Psychologist or Grade 2 Psychologist to join the multi-disciplinary Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Service (OAHKS) team. The OAHKS multidisciplinary team complete early comprehensive assessments to aid in fast-tracking surgical assessment and/or early referral for conservative management.

The Psychologist will work collaboratively with consumers and the OAHKS team to actively address psychological factors that may be impacting on their rehabilitation and management plans. Psychological presentations may include depression, grief, loss and adjustment difficulties in the setting of changed functional abilities, significant anxiety and/or fear that impact on engagement in other therapies (e.g., fear of failing, pain, falling, eating) and trauma related to medical illness and interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Postgraduate qualification in psychology
  • Hold current general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Hold an Area of Practice Endorsement (or working towards same) in Clinical, Health or Counselling Psychology is desired
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in the field of psychology
  • Previous experience or special interest in health psychology and physical rehabilitation is desired
