Electrical Design Opportunities

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our organization in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering detailed designs, developing specifications and collaborating with other disciplines on design issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop professional engineering work on electrical systems strategic planning and conceptual design.
  • Provide detail design services on specialist engineering areas including but not limited to protection detailed design, primary plant and secondary systems equipment specification and procurement, protection & control detail schematics and integration, load flow, fault level power quality and dynamic studies and analysis, communication systems design, general AC & DC system specification and design etc.
  • Develop specifications and collaborate with management on design issues.
  • Verify design work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Working knowledge on cable sizing software and HV modelling software.
  • Assist with site commissioning.
  • Meet with customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers as mentor and/or Team Leader.
  • Provide technical support to the Business Development, Tendering and Operations as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

About You?

University degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

12+ years minimum relevant experience in electrical substation and distribution network.

Knowledge of electrical distribution design including relevant Australian and International standards and codes.

Fundamental understanding of electrical design principles.

Site experience/experience in projects being constructed and commissioned.

Skilled at or able to learn software packages independently, such as CYMCAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory etc., would be an added advantage.

Chartered status including RPEQ, NER & CPEng is desirable.
