Electronics and Communications Apprentice

Leidos is seeking an Electronics and Communications Apprentice to join our team. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and develop your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance support to capabilities used by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN)
  • Work under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Manager and report to the Support Services Manager
  • Provide technical support assistance to end users
  • Develop technical skills through on-the-job training and experience
  • Enrol in a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (national code: UEE30920) as part of an apprenticeship program

Requirements:

  • Australian citizenship
  • Defence clearance
  • Higher School Certificate or equivalent
  • Eligible to enrol in a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (national code: UEE30920) at the commencement of employment
  • Ability to interpret technical data/documentation
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills

Desirable Skills:

  • IT skills - managing software installation and auditing, as well as ability to manage firmware upgrades
  • Telecommunications skills - understanding of LANs, radio networks
  • Working on electrical/mechanical systems and use of hand tools
