Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our team as an After Hours Crisis Response/Triage Worker. This is a casual role that requires the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide face-to-face crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to individuals who have experienced recent sexual assault
  • Work in partnership with on-call forensic doctors/nurses
  • Provide telephone crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to those who have experienced recent sexual assault
  • Contact, consult with, and coordinate other members of the Yarrow Place Daytime and after-hours service
  • Provide referral information for individuals seeking to access counseling, support groups, legal assistance, or other help or information in relation to recent sexual assault
  • Liaise closely with members of other agencies and statutory authorities in provision of a daytime and after-hours sexual assault service
Requirements:
  • Mature and self-directed, able to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute towards a cohesive team culture
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis counseling and support to individuals who have experienced a recent rape or sexual assault
  • Proven ability to organise, coordinate, consult, liaise, and communicate effectively
