About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Marine Underwriter to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in expanding our Marine portfolio in the region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical underwriting, particularly in Cargo and Hull lines of business. You will work closely with our team of experienced underwriters to identify opportunities for growth and development, and collaborate with brokers and clients to build strong relationships and drive new business.

Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and grow a renewal book in line with profitable growth targets
  • Negotiate with brokers within authority while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and Group guidelines
  • Build and nurture relationships with brokers to enhance new business opportunities and strengthen partnerships

Requirements:
  • Minimum 7-10 years in Marine underwriting, including in a lead capacity, with an extensive background in building broker and client relationships
  • Ability to handle multiple deals simultaneously without losing oversight
  • Proactive attitude and ability to perform well under pressure
  • Extensive communication skills and ability to influence and present ideas effectively
  • Negotiation experience and ability to foster collaboration with brokers and clients
