  • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Modes team within League's Gameplay initiative, you will leverage extensive gameplay technical expertise to enhance the gameplay domains in League of Legends.
  • Your role will involve fostering sustainability for existing rotating modes and crafting tools and workflows that facilitate designers and artists in creating exceptional experiences for our players.
  • You will collaborate within a diverse team comprising artists, designers, engineers, producers, and QA professionals.
  • Additionally, you will spearhead the technical decision-making processes within the team, bearing responsibility for all technical choices and the quality of the technology endorsed by the team.
  • Your reporting line will be to the Team Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities: Drive, identify, and implement enhancements to ensure League of Legends can sustainably manage rotating game modes.

  • Comprehend the backend services that support League of Legends and guide technical decisions for optimal utilization.
  • Oversee the automation of processes related to the creation and operation of existing rotating game modes. Design and develop features and user interfaces within the League of Legends game engine utilizing C++.
  • Engage with cross-disciplinary teams in various locations to shape player experiences.
  • Provide insights to designers and artists regarding the technical implications of their designs and concepts.
  • Offer feedback to product leaders concerning product direction and player engagement while collaborating with and mentoring engineering colleagues.

Essential Qualifications: A minimum of 8 years of cumulative professional experience in developing applications or games within a client-server architecture.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience collaborating closely with non-engineering stakeholders to deliver value.
Experience in game development and working with intricate codebases. Professional proficiency in C++.
