Part-time General Practitioner Opportunity

This role offers a flexible and permanent part-time position, with a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight, divided into 3-4 hour shifts over the fortnight.

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a registered General Practitioner to provide high-quality medical care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough medical assessments to identify patients' needs and implement appropriate treatment in collaboration with Visiting Medical Officers (Psychiatrists).
  2. Develop and implement evidence-based medical care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Prioritize and provide medical care according to professional standards and hospital policies.
  4. Offer collegial support in clinical problem-solving, act as a role model, and provide resources for staff.
  5. Assist in the education of clinical staff and medical students within areas of expertise.
  6. Participate in discharge planning, coordinate activities with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  7. Ensure medication prescription, management, and documentation comply with legal and hospital policy requirements.
  8. Provide effective first-line management during medical emergencies and code situations, including the management of potentially aggressive patients.
Requirements:
  • You must be a registered General Practitioner with current and relevant registration with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 years post-graduate General Practitioner experience is required.
  • You must be competent in providing advanced life support measures.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • A background in acute mental health care is highly regarded.
