This is a leadership role within the Midwifery Group Practice team, where you will provide support to the Midwife Unit Manager in leading the maternity team. You will promote continuity and consistency of care, collaborate with other Nurse Unit Managers and the multidisciplinary maternity care team, and contribute to the implementation of practice changes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and support to the maternity team
- Collaborate with other Nurse Unit Managers and the multidisciplinary maternity care team
- Contribute to the implementation of practice changes
- Perform service management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, and attendance management
- Support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the maternity team
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate
- Prior experience in management and leadership roles
- Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
