Job Opportunity: Forensic Medical Practitioner/Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced medical professional to join our team as a Casual Medical Practitioner or Casual Medical Consultant. The successful candidate will provide high-quality community-based forensic medical services, using evidence-based practice, including medicolegal examinations for women and men who have experienced sexual assault.

  • This role requires a deep understanding of contemporary practice, issues, and research in relation to sexual assault medicine and interpersonal violence.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals for positive health outcomes and foster productive working relationships both internally and externally.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent; Registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.

Your experience should include:

  • Acute medical assessment in either an Emergency Department or other acute medical setting.
  • Women's health and particularly in the performance of anogenital examinations.
  • Knowledge of feminist analysis and commitment to addressing the complex issues surrounding rape and sexual assault.
