The Opportunity
As the leader of the National HR team based at our Parramatta corporate support office, you will work closely with Regional HR Advisors, branch Management teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and deliver operational and strategic HR solutions. Key areas of responsibility include:
- Developing and implementing HR strategies across national branches through collaboration with the Executive leadership team.
- Leading the implementation of all HR improvement projects.
- Partnering with Management to review and implement strategies for continually improving employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Supporting management levels and employees with adherence to employment legislation and relevant awards; advising on benefits and grievance resolution.
- Managing and leading the payroll team to ensure timely delivery of scheduled requirements.
- Collaborating with the national recruitment team to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop high-calibre employees.
- Working with the learning and development team to continue developing the company's training and career development framework.
- Providing leadership and guidance to the HR team.
- Ensuring smooth annual salary reviews and company bonus payments.
- Maintaining HR policies and procedures, initiating changes to reflect legislative and industry requirements as necessary.
- Collaborating with the workplace health and safety team to promote safety as a priority and work on related projects.
- Staying up-to-date with new laws and ensuring HR systems comply.
- Implementing and refining the company's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy to meet its objectives.
- Reporting to head office in Japan on global initiatives as required.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have experience as an HR Manager in a medium to large enterprise. You should possess strong business acumen and be dedicated to empowering your people to excel. Essential skills and qualifications include:
- An enthusiastic team-based work ethic with ability to lead the HR team across Australia.
- Strong partnership-building capabilities with diverse business operators.
- Working knowledge of applicable IR laws and regulations impacting similar industries.
- Appreciation of developments and trends in HR practices in similar industries.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant formal qualifications in HR.
- Experience in an industrial business is preferred.
- Ability to travel interstate.
