Australian Defence Force: Army Human Resources Administrator

Gain valuable skills for life with a 12-month Gap Year as an Army Human Resources Administrator. This is not your average office job - it's better.

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work in barracks, out in the field on exercise or even on domestic operations. As a member of the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (RAAOC), you'll play a meaningful role in the well-being of personnel in each Army unit.

You'll work with the best team in the field to resolve issues and learn more about the Human Resources Administrator role. Throughout your Gap Year program, you'll be supported by professional and dedicated Army personnel who will provide the guidance necessary for you to get the most out of this experience.

Your training will begin at Kapooka in NSW, where you'll complete approximately 9 weeks of recruit training. Training will involve physical training, weapon handling and shooting, first aid as well as drill and field craft. It's challenging, but it will prepare you for anything.

After completing your Initial Military Training, you'll begin your Initial Employment Training in VIC, where you will complete the Human Resources Administrator Course. Then, you'll be posted to one of the many Army bases across Australia. Here, you'll join an experienced team and have opportunities to put your new skills to the test.

All while making friends and gaining experience that will last a lifetime, you'll remain consistent in your job role and be essential to the effective operation of the Army. After finishing your Gap Year program, you can choose to continue your career in the Army or use the skills and experiences to gain an edge in future careers. There's no obligation to serve beyond the one-year program period.
