Occupational Therapist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in the picturesque Atherton Tablelands, Far North Queensland.

About Our Practice

We provide holistic occupational therapy services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Our purpose-built clinic features sensory gym, various therapy rooms, nature play area, messy/art therapy area, garden therapy area, sandplay & symbol work room.

We also work in communities on the Atherton Tablelands, providing convenient access to our services for clients. Our vibrant team is motivated, supportive, with regular supervision, excellent professional development plans, and team building/connection opportunities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat clients with various needs.
  • Design individualised, family-centred, and holistic therapy intervention plans and programs, conducting hands-on therapy sessions.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders, including general practitioners, paediatricians, preschool teachers, teachers, and other health professionals involved in client care.
  • Manage a clinical caseload with high standards of clinical reasoning, bookings, time, treatment plans, appointments, travel, and administrative duties.
  • Meet productivity targets and deliver quality client-related outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director to create programs, resources, and operational efficiencies.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure records, written, verbal, and electronic communication.
  • Provide supervision to students, therapy assistants, and support workers, developing programs, care plans, and resources for their growth and performance.
  • Adhere to practice policies and procedures, occupational therapy codes of ethics, and conduct codes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ocupational therapy qualification.
  • AHPRA registration.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • PREFERRED 2 years experience in paediatric occupational therapy services or genuine passion and desire to develop skills.
  • Ability to independently problem-solve, analyse client needs, conduct assessments, write reports, and provide therapy sessions.
  • Passionate about helping people overcome challenges and delivering exceptional service quality.
  • Capacity to think creatively and excel in all forms of communication.
  • Able to understand private practice model, value business needs, and contribute to its success.
  • Excellent work ethic and reliability.
