Job Summary

The Sarina Russo Group is dedicated to empowering people and communities through innovative education and employment solutions. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Parent/Carer Support Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

As a Parent/Carer Support Specialist, you will work closely with parents/carers with children under six to provide individualised support and guidance on various parenting challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate workshops, create a welcoming environment for learning and growth, and assist parents in overcoming barriers to achieve their individual employment and/or educational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide individualised mentorship to parents, offering support and guidance on various parenting challenges.
  2. Assist parents/carers to overcome barriers and empower them with the skills to achieve their individual employment and/or educational goals.
  3. Facilitate workshops and group sessions on topics relevant to parent challenges.
  4. Develop and implement engaging educational materials and resources.
  5. Foster a safe and supportive environment for parents to share experiences and learn from one another.
  6. Collaborate with community organisations and resources to enhance program offerings.
  7. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  1. Personal lived experience in parenting or family support, along with relevant professional experience.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse families.
  3. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others, particularly parents.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Familiarity with community resources and support systems is a plus.
  6. Able to meet targets while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  7. Understanding and respect for diverse backgrounds and perspectives, promoting inclusivity.
  8. Precision in documentation and case management to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  9. Proficient in Technology.
  10. Completed or working towards a Certificate III or above in a related course in Society and Culture, Health or Education; or
  11. Tertiary level qualifications related to education, training, social services, counselling, case management, psychology, community services, careers guidance.
  12. Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain one.
