EDI Business Analyst Job Description

The EDI Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations within the organization. This key position is responsible for coordinating and troubleshooting EDI business-as-usual issues, designing EDI business processes, and working closely with IT on EDI design and implementation.

This challenging opportunity involves:

  • Coordinate and troubleshoot EDI BAU issues
  • Design EDI business processes in collaboration with SMEs
  • Assist/control EDI integration testing requirements during system changes or upgrades
  • Work closely with IT to ensure business requirements are met and communicated effectively
  • Manage business expectations and provide consistent feedback throughout project lifecycle
  • Ensure high-quality implementation of EDI solutions and projects
  • Facilitate and onboard new EDI connection requests
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, VANs, and internal stakeholders to understand EDI implementation scope
  • Develop work plans for EDI rollouts
  • Work with relevant IT teams to understand internal setup and development activities
  • Identify EDI master data & pricing setup requirements and coordinate/assist with setup/cleanup activities
  • Develop test plans, conduct testing, and coordinate UAT and business sign-off of required changes
  • Escalate and follow-up issues as required
  • Develop instructions and informational/training documentation for intended audience
  • Provide training to relevant team members
  • Support go-live activities where required
  • Provide post-go-live support

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience implementing EDI with customers and suppliers
  • Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes
  • SAP SD & MM module experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Committed, self-motivated, and excellent attention to detail
  • Presentation and training skills required
  • Excellent analytical and lateral thinking skills
  • Exposure to the retail industry highly regarded
