Claims Specialist

About Strata Insurance: Strata Insurance is a specialized form of coverage designed to protect buildings and common areas jointly owned by multiple unit owners. It typically includes protection for property damage, liability, and other risks that may affect the common property of a multi-unit building.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate and partner with clients to deliver value
* Identify suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims and escalate as necessary
* Provide information and feedback on claims activity and trends to underwriters/risk assessors
* Interpret policy coverage and determine if coverage applies to claims submitted
* Ensure compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards
* Respond to client inquiries within the Honan Service-level agreement (SLA)
* Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, court decisions impacting claims functions, and policy changes and modifications
* Recommend changes to Honan policies and procedures
Requirements:
* Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and claims processes
* Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
* Strong organizational and customer focus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* 1-2 years' experience in insurance
* Experience working to deadlines and within SLA timeframes
* Tertiary legal qualifications highly desirable
