Backend Development Specialist

As a seasoned expert in backend development, we are seeking an accomplished Backend Development Specialist to drive the implementation of robust systems using Node.js. Working across client-side and server-side technologies in a UNIX-based environment is essential for success in this role.

About the Role
  • Develop scalable backend infrastructure and architecture to meet business needs
  • Design and implement complex systems and solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Apply software engineering best practices to deliver high-quality results
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 4+ years of relevant software development experience
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial experience with Node.js (non-negotiable)
Key Skills
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
  • Experience with server-side web technologies (e.g. Node.js v10+)
  • Proficiency in containerization and deployment using Docker
Additional Requirements
  • We're looking for examples of complex backend systems you've built in Node.js that involved business logic beyond simple CRUD operations
  • Approaches to error handling and recovery paths in those situations
