Job Title:

High Voltage Electrician - Substation Trade Technician

Job Overview:

As a skilled team member, you will be part of the operation and maintenance of Powerlink's high voltage substation network. You will work in Townsville, reporting to the Substation Section Team Leader within the Field Delivery Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, repair, construct, and operate transmission substation plant and equipment according to standards and procedures.
  • Investigate faults, provide feedback to stakeholders, and look for opportunities to improve efficiency and processes.
  • Perform critical maintenance, commissioning, and project works.
  • Resolve complex problems and support the network to deliver safe and reliable electricity to millions of Queenslanders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hold a Qld Electrical Fitter/Mechanic licence.
  • Have Current LVR & CPR Certification.
  • Possess a High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform.
  • Have a current 'C' Class drivers licence.

About You:
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, construct and operate substation equipment rated up to 330 kV.
  • A background in safely maintaining, constructing and operating High Voltage electrical substation equipment with a Transmission, Distribution or large-scale Contractor organisation.
