We have an exciting casual role available for a General Assistant - Toolstore person to support the delivery of frontline class support at our TAFE location.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level customer service, contributing to a positive learning environment, and assisting with general administration work, purchasing, and organizing tools, equipment, and materials for students and staff.

This role requires manual handling activities and may involve working a roster. If you are a self-starter who is willing to be hands-on and support learning outcomes and delivery in the classroom, we would love to hear from you.

As a General Assistant - Toolstore person, you will have demonstrated experience working within a trade environment, using a range of hand and power tools, and conducting minor repairs and maintenance. You will also have experience in all aspects of purchasing, inventory and stock control, including store layout and maintenance of stores records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance the effective and efficient delivery of frontline class support.
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment by supporting students and staff.
  • Assist with general administration work, purchasing, and organizing tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform manual handling activities and work to a roster as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory and stock control, including store layout and maintenance of stores records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.
  • Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
