About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Academic Leader in Mental Health Nursing to join our team at The University of Newcastle. As a key member of our School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of mental health nursing education and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of mental health nursing curricula that reflect contemporary practice and research.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of our mental health nursing research program, including the development of research grants and collaborations.
  • Provide academic leadership and mentorship to early career academics and students in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and stakeholders to develop and maintain strong relationships that support the School's research and education goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A PhD in a relevant field, such as nursing, psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in academic leadership, including curriculum development and implementation, research grant development, and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A strong track record of research and publication in the field of mental health nursing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
