Job Opportunity

This is a full-time permanent role for an RPG Developer. The successful candidate will work in Western Sydney with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create robust, well-structured code in accordance with established corporate standards and industry best practices.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i platform using RPG, CL, and SQL.

  • Lead and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining corporate software and databases.

  • Integrate RPG-based applications with other internal systems and external interfaces, including web services, databases, and third-party applications.

  • Optimize existing RPG code and applications to improve system performance, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Configure and maintain file transfer workflows using Go-Anywhere MFT, set up secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS), and create automated job scheduling and monitoring processes.

  • Map and translate EDI documents between trading partners and develop RPG programs to process inbound and outbound EDI transactions.

  • Implement EDI validation rules and error handling procedures working with business users, maintain trading partner relationships, and troubleshoot EDI transmission issues and data mapping errors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of software development experience.

  • Proven experience in IBM i development with strong expertise in RPG programming.

  • Technical expertise in IBM i, RPG, CL, and SQL.

  • Knowledge and understanding of ANSI X12 and EDIFACT formats.

  • Experience in setting up Secure File Transfer Protocols and other workflows for complex file processing.

  • Familiarity with web services (REST, SOAP) and integrating RPG applications with modern web technologies.
