About the Role

The role of the Specialist Employment Mentor will focus on supporting individuals by providing intensive mentoring to ensure their transition into employment is successful and sustained.

This role is being offered on a full-time, ongoing basis and will work across the Perth South region covering Cannington, Fremantle and Gosnells.

  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to type (minimum 30 words per minute);
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse range of clients, employers and staff;
  • High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to represent our organization to our customers, funding bodies, employers, RTOs, Indigenous Communities and other stakeholders;
  • Sound knowledge of the local labour market;
  • An understanding of case management framework;
  • Sales and customer service experience;
  • Extensive working knowledge of federally funded Employment Programs and funding models;
  • Experience mentoring Indigenous customers in employment;
  • Experience in working with ex-offenders in an employment or rehabilitation setting;
  • Proven ability to work in an outcome-based, high-pressure environment, positively and with enthusiasm;
  • Have a minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development;
  • Hold a current driver's licence and have own vehicle with the willingness to travel across the region.

Remuneration

A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As we are a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax-effective salary packaging.
