About This Role

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team at Western Power's Picton Depot.

As the Electrical Inspector in our Southern Region, you will be responsible for conducting complex inspections, investigations, and audits to ensure the safety of consumer installations connected to our network.

This role requires extensive technical and electrical knowledge and skills, as well as excellent external stakeholder management skills and experience.

You will be designated by the Director of EnergySafety and required to undertake this position to meet regulatory obligations and Western Power's Inspection System Plan.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • A Current Electrical Workers License
  • Eligibility to be designated as an Inspector (Electrical)
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations, to be completed within 12 months of commencing position
  • Certificate of Energy Coordination Act 1994, Electricity Act 1945, to be obtained within 12 months of commencing position
  • National Police Certificate
  • Possess Cert III (ESI Distribution / Transmission Overhead / Power Systems Distribution Cable Jointing) and/or Electrical Trade Certificate and hold a current WA Electrical Workers License
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years demonstrated post-trade experience within the electrical industry, specifically in domestic, light & heavy industrial and commercial work
  • Hold all appropriate industry licences or certificates of competency in accordance with the Energy Safety Act 2006
  • Detailed working knowledge of AS3000 and West Australian Electrical requirements
  • Excellent external stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Experience in electrical metering and/or installation practices, regulations, and procedures
  • Competent in the utilisation of MS Office Suite and scheduling/work management systems
