We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher with a passion for Montessori education.
As a Graduate Classroom Teacher, you will be working under the guidance of experienced teachers and mentors to develop your skills and competencies in classroom management, subject content, and teaching practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing teaching programs or courses of study.
- Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress in key learning areas.
- Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
- Maintaining effective student management consistent with the school charter.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant curriculum including literacy and numeracy skills.
- Capacity to implement high-impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn.
- Ability to monitor and assess student learning.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Graduation from a course within the last 4 years.
- No current employment as a teacher by the Department at commencement.
Applicants must also be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
