About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Engineering/Technical Leader to join our team at Laing O'Rourke, a leading construction and infrastructure company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy sector projects, with a focus on HV transmission lines and other bespoke electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all technical aspects of the project, including design, engineering delivery, digital engineering, and quality assurance. They will ensure that we deliver value and technical certainty that exceeds our client expectations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong engineering degree in electrical, power systems, or a related field, complemented by a professional chartership from a recognized institution. A master's qualification providing a technical or leadership extension to your base degree is highly desirable.
You will have significant experience working with transmission and renewables projects, including HV and HVDC systems, grid connections, and substations. You will also have excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead design teams and coach and develop engineers.
