About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our BreastScreen team in Orange. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, client-centered care to women in Western NSW.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Clinical Nurse Consultants to deliver exceptional care and support to clients undergoing screening and assessment. You will be part of a dedicated clinical team, delivering best outcomes for women in the region.

This role involves providing evidenced-based care and counseling for clients, as well as travel to attend assessments clinics in Dubbo. Occasional overnight stays may be required. Our goal is to improve survival rates of women with breast cancer by providing free screening mammograms throughout the Western and Greater Western region of NSW.

BreastScreen NSW is part of the national BreastScreen Australia program, jointly funded by the Commonwealth and state governments. We aim to detect breast cancer early, before it has a chance to spread. Early detection increases treatment options and improves survival chances.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide client-centered care and support to women undergoing screening and assessment
  • Work closely with Clinical Nurse Consultants to deliver exceptional care and outcomes
  • Travel to attend assessments clinics in Dubbo, with occasional overnight stays
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and policies within the BreastScreen team
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified Registered Nurse with current registration
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a rural or remote setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
